JANUARY 2011 IS NATIONAL TRAIN YOUR DOG MONTH!
As we posted during the holidays, training is the gift that keeps on giving. That spirit continues in the new year as the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) celebrates January 2011 as National Train Your Dog Month. This annual campaign promotes the benefits of positive training and socialization and to let everyone know that training your dog can be simple and fun! January was selected as the perfect month because so many dogs and puppies are adopted and brought home during the winter holidays. Along with our fellow APDT members, we believe that a better understanding of dog behavior can lead to happier, healthier and harmonious households for humans and canines.
At Stay N Play Pet Ranch we want to help new pet parents start off the new year with their newest family member in the best way possible, and to encourage those making new year resolutions for their older family pets. Puppy Beginnings, Basic Obedience, Therapy Dog Prep Training, and more are all gearing up in just about a week, we hope you'll join us! Get our training class details, meet our trainers, and check out the schedule on our dog training page.
For even a bit more fun, as part of National Train Your Dog month, APDT is having photo and video contests to celebrate. Take photos of or video your darling in a training class at Stay N Play Pet Ranch and upload on the APDT contest page for a chance to win a basket of pet products or an Amazon gift card.
