Stay N Play Joins The Dog Gurus

We are very excited to announce that Stay N Play Pet Ranch has become a Charter Member of The Dog Gurus, an organization dedicated to keeping dogs safe while under the care of pet professionals. As an organization member, Stay N Play has taken the pledge to provide safe care and train staff in safe dog care. We have always worked hard at setting an example in the industry and will continue to carry that forward. The Dog Gurus's educational programs, Knowing Dogs 101 and Knowing Dogs 201, teach how to read dog body language and how to appropriately respond to what one sees such as aggression, timidity, etc. We are proud to have 12 Stay N Play staff members certified under the Knowing Dogs 101 program and 6 staff already certified under the Knowing Dogs 201 program. As there are far too many unfortunate incidents in off-leash dog parks, The Dog Gurus also provide safety information to the pet owning public. You can learn more at www.safeoffleashdogplay.com.

Doga Fall Special!

We're celebrating the coming new season with an $18 Doga Fall Special. That's just $18 for the 2 of you (you and your pup). Stay N Play provides the yoga mat. Class size is limited as we'll be doing Doga inside at Stay N Play with calming music.

Doga classes are typically Thursday evenings at 6:30pm. The following Fall 2013 dates are confirmed: September 19, October 10, and October 24.

Doga is yoga with your dog, but no experience (or being able to put your legs behind your head) required for either of you. Doga is simply a great, relaxing bonding experience with your four-legged soul mate. Our instructor, Darla Buckner, has been practicing yoga for over 10 years and is a Registered Yoga Teacher with 200 hours of training. Dogs and Yoga are her passion and now she has combined the two!

The word "yoga" actually means "to yoke" or "union" in Sanskrit. So practicing yoga with your dog is more about bonding and being together as one. However, there are many other benefits, like flexibility for both you and your pet. It's also a perfect opportunity to touch your pet. Moving your hands on them and doing a basic health check. Or just allowing them to get used to having their paws touched. Yoga is about breathing, too. So just lying with your dog and breathing together is truly relaxing for both of you. Thank goodness, it's not about either of you ending up standing on your head!

To register for Doga or for more information, call the office at (512) 894-7387.

Namaste and bow wow.
